Connect Surprise Chef to Claude

Add Surprise Chef as an MCP connector in your Claude account. First-class MCP support, works on web, desktop and mobile, and free with your existing Claude subscription.

Setup steps

Create your free Surprise Chef account
Sign up at surprisechef.ai/signup. Name your household and pick your grocery store. Takes about a minute.

Open the Connect AI page in your dashboard
From the sidebar, click Connect AI and copy the Surprise Chef server URL from the Claude tab.

Add Surprise Chef as a Claude connector
In claude.ai open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it Surprise Chef, paste the URL, click Add, then Connect, and sign in with your Surprise Chef email and password. Directory listing is in review — once live it's a single Connect button.

Try a prompt
Inside any Claude conversation, paste one of the starter prompts. Claude will use Surprise Chef tools automatically.

What works particularly well in Claude

·Photo recipes. Claude's vision is excellent — drop a photo of a cookbook page and it pulls out a structured smart recipe in one shot.
·Multi-step planning. "Plan my week, build a shopping list, and check it against my budget" — Claude chains tools cleanly.
·Conversational pantry audits. Claude is patient and good at follow-up questions, which makes the audit flow feel natural.
